One of my favorite events to shoot every year!
It's inspiring to see the community support each other, even though they are come from different backgrounds, speak different languages, and have different traditions. The Asian and Pacific Islander communities have hundreds to thousands of unique cultures, languages, and practices. The sometimes are not even remotely alike and often have opposing views with each other, but it's not about the differences between the communities; it's about the values that are shared.
Moments just like these are the reasons I continue to serve the community as an organizer and a photojournalist.
